Now Tesla Certified!
Electric cars, or “EV”s, are a growing part of the automotive landscape, and we get more calls with each passing month for the special circuits it takes to charge an EV quickly. Looking forward, we see this as a rapidly growing part of our business. Last fall (2016), we participated in Tesla’s special training and evaluation process, and became a “Tesla Certified Electrical Contractor.” This year, we’ve made the “Recommended Electrical Contractors” list for Clipper Creek — the leading manufacturer of aftermarket charging equipment.
The EV idea is great, and we’re actually looking around at options right now for an electric service vehicle for our growing business.
The big concern with EVs? No matter what brand of car, the charging circuits required can put major stress on the home’s wiring and service panel, and some homes are more ready than others. Tesla wants to make sure car buyers have the best possible experience. With their training and certification program they’re being pro-active, and setting the standard for quality charger installations.
If there’s an EV in your near future, it’s smart to call us WELL BEFORE the car arrives, to review the type of charging system you’re considering, assess your home for any possible wiring issues, and make sure you’re ready with the right power and a safe installation.
